Hello Friends!
Sometimes the simplest ideas are the ones that feel the most special.
A classic Caesar salad certainly doesn’t need much help, but serving it in a coupe glass gives an everyday favorite a polished little upgrade. It’s an easy presentation idea for lunch with friends, a dinner party, bridal shower, cocktail-style gathering, or even a weeknight dinner when you simply want the table to feel a little prettier.
Crisp romaine, creamy Caesar dressing, crunchy croutons, shaved Parmesan and plenty of freshly cracked black pepper come together in just a few minutes. A homemade Parmesan crisp tucked into the top gives each glass a little height, texture, and that final elevated touch.
And the best part is that the crisps are incredibly easy to make.
A SIMPLE WAY TO ELEVATE A CLASSIC
I love entertaining ideas that feel thoughtful without requiring an entire afternoon in the kitchen.
The coupe glasses are really what make this presentation work. Instead of placing one large salad bowl in the center of the table, each guest receives an individual serving that already feels composed and ready to enjoy.
The homemade Parmesan crisps add just enough extra detail to make the presentation feel special. They look impressive, but they’re made with just one ingredient and a few minutes in the oven.
It’s exactly the kind of easy entertaining detail I love.

CAESAR SALAD COUPES
Serves 4
Prep Time: 10 minutes
Cook Time: 5–7 minutes
INGREDIENTS
For the Parmesan Crisps
- 1 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese
For the Caesar Salad
- 2 romaine hearts, washed, dried and chopped
- 1/3 cup Caesar dressing, plus more as needed
- 1 cup croutons
- 1/2 cup shaved Parmesan cheese, plus more for finishing
- Freshly cracked black pepper
- Lemon wedges, optional for serving

INSTRUCTIONS
Step 1
Preheat the oven to 400°F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
Spoon small mounds of grated Parmesan onto the prepared baking sheet, using about 2 tablespoons of cheese for each crisp. Gently spread each mound into a thin circle, leaving a little space between them.

Bake for 5–7 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and the edges are lightly golden.
Remove from the oven and allow the crisps to cool completely on the baking sheet. They will become crisp as they cool.
Step 2
Place the chopped romaine in a large mixing bowl.
Drizzle with about half of the Caesar dressing and toss gently to coat. Add additional dressing a little at a time until the lettuce is lightly dressed.

Step 3
Add most of the croutons and shaved Parmesan to the dressed romaine, reserving a small amount of each for finishing.
Toss gently until everything is evenly combined.
Step 4
Divide the Caesar salad evenly among four coupe glasses. Use tongs to gently arrange the lettuce so each glass looks full without pressing the salad down.

Step 5
Top each coupe with a few additional croutons and generous shavings of Parmesan.
Finish with freshly cracked black pepper and tuck one Parmesan crisp into the back of each glass.
Serve immediately, with lemon wedges on the side if desired.

RECIPE NOTES
Keep the dressing light. Start with less dressing than you think you need and add more gradually. Lightly dressed romaine will look fresher and hold its shape better in the coupe glasses.
Use finely grated Parmesan for the crisps. Freshly grated Parmesan melts more evenly and gives you a delicate, lacy crisp.
Give the crisps time to cool. They may still feel slightly flexible when they first come out of the oven, but they’ll firm up as they cool.
Make the crisps ahead. The Parmesan crisps can be prepared earlier in the day and kept at room temperature in an airtight container until you’re ready to assemble the salads.
Make the salad easy. A favorite bottled Caesar dressing, store-bought croutons and pre-shaved Parmesan keep the rest of the recipe incredibly simple.
For prettier Parmesan. Pre-shaved Parmesan works perfectly in the salad. For larger ribbons on top, use a vegetable peeler to shave a few pieces from a block of Parmesan or Parmigiano-Reggiano.
Prep ahead. Wash, dry and chop the romaine earlier in the day, but wait to dress and assemble the salads until shortly before serving.
Make it a meal. Add sliced grilled chicken or chilled shrimp for a more substantial version.

A LITTLE SOMETHING SPECIAL
There’s nothing complicated about Caesar salad, and that’s exactly why this idea works so well.
Instead of reinventing a classic, we’re simply changing the way it’s served. A beautiful glass, generous Parmesan shavings, and a crisp made from a single ingredient turn a familiar favorite into something that feels ready for company.
It’s another reminder that entertaining at home doesn’t have to be elaborate to feel special.
