Halloween is one of my favorite holidays, and around our house, even the bar cart gets dressed for the occasion.
With October 31st just around the corner, I transformed our family’s Metropolitan Bar Cart from Z Gallerie into a spooky little serving station—with a little help from Bones the Butler, our resident skeleton.
SETTING THE SCENE
I wanted the bar cart to feel festive and a little creepy while still complementing the style of our home. I started with a mostly black, white, and deep red color palette and layered in Halloween details throughout.
Black bats climbing the wall created the backdrop, while black taper candles, skull accents, and blood-red roses brought a little drama to the cart itself.
And, of course, Bones was dressed and ready to serve our guests.
STOCKING THE BAR
For the drinks, I selected bottles that worked beautifully with the Halloween aesthetic. Apothic Wine added rich color to the lower shelf, while the skull-shaped Crystal Head Vodka bottle became part of the decor itself.
Skull glassware and a coordinating decanter continued the theme without requiring every element of the cart to feel overtly Halloween.
ADD SOMETHING SWEET
A bar cart doesn’t have to be reserved exclusively for cocktails.
I added festive Halloween cupcakes and treats alongside the drinks, creating a spot where guests could grab something sweet while making a cocktail or pouring a glass of wine.
It’s a simple detail, but offering a combination of sips and sweets makes the cart feel more like a complete entertaining moment.
A LITTLE HALLOWEEN MAGIC
One of my favorite things about seasonal entertaining is finding simple ways to bring the celebration into spaces we already use and love.
A few spooky accessories, dramatic flowers, festive treats, and thoughtfully selected bottles were all it took to transform our everyday bar cart for Halloween.
