Atlanta Wedding Celebration: Jessica & Derek at Château Élan

Hello friends! I was elated when Dr. Jessica Mercer reached out to me to assist with the final planning and orchestrating of her wedding celebration at Château Élan! (We were both featured as Women of Power & Influence in the September 2018 issue of The Atlantan)! Jessica, a board certified dermatologist and dermatopathologist, and Derek, a board certified emergency medicine physician, met during their undergrad studies at Howard University in Washington, D.C. They are the perfect complement to each other! Jessica and Derek love to catch a flight and make their rounds around the globe so they decided to have a travel-themed wedding celebration!

Their celebration included travel-inspired welcome boxes for guests staying at the resort, escort card luggage tags, and a “passport” that included the ceremony program and dinner menu! Jessica arrived at the ceremony by horse and carriage while guests were serenaded by a harpist! During the ceremony on Château Lawn, the couple engaged in the Tasting of the Four Elements before jumping the broom! After the ceremony, guests were escorted to the Debussy Ballroom for cocktail hour and a formal reception including wedding cake with a hand-painted replica of the world map and two couture dress changes! (Jessica, aka Dr. Barbie, is a true fashionista!) Here’s a peek:
