Pizzazzerie Book Signing with Courtney Whitmore

October 20, 2017

Hello Friends!  Last Thursday I had the opportunity to re-connect with Courtney Whitmore at the book signing party for Pizzazzerie: Entertain in Style!  Courtney is an entertainment expert and the founder of the Pizzazzerie party planning blog!  This is Courtney’s 4th book and  I’m so proud of her latest accomplishment!

The event was held at Swoozies of Buckhead!  (Swoozies is a party girl’s dream store filled with event supplies, gifts, and cute stationery!  It was my first visit and moving forward, I will definitely be a regular!)  Courtney’s event was in true Pizzazzerie fashion complete with champagne, sweet treats, gifts, and personalized decor!

I met Courtney in April 2012 during the book tour for her first book, Push-Up Pops!  Since our first meeting, she’s become near and dear to my heart!  She keeps me on my toes with home entertaining tips, gift ideas, and fun recipes!  I am excited to see what’s next on this party girl’s calendar!

An Afternoon with Courtney Dial of Pizzazzerie for Push-Up Pops Book Signing

April 2, 2012

Hello all!  I hope your week is off to a fabulous start.  Yesterday I had the pleasure of meeting Ms. (soon to be Mrs.) Courtney Dial Whitmore of the fabulous Pizzazzerie party blog.  She was at the Barnes & Noble in Lincoln Park signing her new book, Push-Up Pops!  She’s so precious and I had such a great time!

During the signing, there was a drawing for a yummy snack basket filled with goodies like popcorn, peanut butter, hot cocoa, and other delicious goodies.  Well, guess what!  I won the gift basket!  Thanks so much Courtney!!

After the book signed, a few Dallas planning girls headed to Primebar for dinner with Courtney.  We had a great time getting to know each other and sharing party tips.  I look forward to getting together with these fabulous ladies again!

What do you do this weekend?  I’d love to know!!

XOXO

Wedding Planning Tips with David Tutera

January 13, 2011

Celebrity event planner David Tutera recently came to Dallas for a speaking engagement.  He spoke to a group of event professionals and brides-to-be at the Adolphus Hotel.  There’s only one word that describes this event planner: Fabulous! I was ecstatic to be spending a few hours getting the inside scoop on his famed reality show “My Fair Wedding” and tips on how to plan the perfect wedding.

Tips from Tutera:

– Pictures last a lifetime! Choose your photographer wisely.  Once the honeymoon is over, your wedding pictures will be your lasting memory.

– Change is good! If you want to keep your guests engaged, be sure to having something new happening at your reception every 30 minutes.  Keep the party going!

– If you want to have a Winter Wonderland Wedding in July, go for it! Don’t get too attached to “seasonal” colors and expectations.

– Be realistic with your budget.  Educate yourself on what things cost.  Set a list of priorities.  Know what you want and where you’re willing to cut back if necessary.

– Guests don’t want to take home random favors.  Make your favors meaningful (and useful) or cut them out altogether.  You can utilize this money in another area of your budget.

– Try something new with the tables at your reception.  X tables are a new trend that’s becoming quite popular.  With this look, tables are set up in the shape of an “X”.  This is a great way to give the room a new look and sense of personal style!

Be sure to catch David Tutera the next time he visits your city. I sure will!

Watch David Tutera on “My Fair Wedding” Sunday nights on We TV at 9pm|8c.

XOXO
