National Popcorn Day! (Display Ideas + Recipe)
Today is National Popcorn Day! Grab a handful and let’s celebrate!! In my opinion, popcorn is, and will continue to be, a vital additional to movie nights at home, fabulous parties, wedding displays, and low-fat diet menus (without the butter, of course). I’m sure you’ve all seen TONS of sweet and yummy candy displays at various events. What about popcorn? There are several different companies around that provide odd, yet tasty flavor combinations in super cute wrapping for popcorn bars, gift ideas, and party favors. Uptown Popcorn and Lé Popcorn are two of my favorite DFW gourmet popcorn companies! Here’s a sneak peek at some of the flavors:
Chili Cheese
Strawberry Cheesecake
Sweet & Spicy BBQ
Buffalo Ranch
Chocolate Toffee Almond
Green Apple
Dill Pickle
Bubble Gum
S’mores
Rocky Road
Loaded Baked Potato
And the list goes on… and on…
Sounds good, doesn’t it?! In additional to all of the flavors, their are several trendy and fun ways to incorporate popcorn into your next event:

You can purchase your favorite popcorn flavor from your local gourmet popcorn shop or you can create a delicious mix on your own! Check out this yummy recipe for White Chocolate Popcorn Mix:

White Chocolate Popcorn Mix!
Ingredients:
*3 bags plain microwave popcorn, popped
*2- 12 oz. packages premier white chocolate morsels
*2- 12.6 oz. bags chocolate-coated candies (such as M&Ms)
Instructions:
Mix half of popcorn (1.5 bags) and 1 bag of candy in a large bowl. Melt 1 bag white chocolate morsels in microwave at 75% power for 3 minutes, stirring every 30 seconds, until melted. CAREFUL NOT TO BURN!!! Pour a small amount of chocolate over popcorn and stir to coat. Continue adding chocolate, a little at a time, until popcorn is fully coated. You will use about 2/3 of the white chocolate. Spread popcorn mixture on a cookie sheet lined with wax paper. Using a spoon, drizzle remaining white chocolate over popcorn. Allow to cool for 1 hour before breaking popcorn into large chunks. Repeat with remaining popcorn, candy, and white chocolate. Enjoy!!

Have a fabulous Thursday!!
